The flowers are practically popping up through the ice and snow. A balmy -16, snowing lightly and here we are in West Winnipeg. We were fully prepared to be in our space suits for the day at -40, but the west coast gods of overreaction have looked down upon us. Although we can’t wear our shorts and light gortex ( Vancouver’s uniform of winter defiance), we are indeed pleasantly surprised at the climatic reprieve bestowed upon us.
Last night’s show was a great kick off to the “Manit’sfreezingmyassoff Tour”, a full house. A wee bit of a sleep in awaits this Saturday before we set out in the Dawg Sled for St. Clements, just a shortage portage from Portage and Main.
But first, we gotta get some snow tires on the sled. Who knew that in the middle of winter in Winnipeg, you have to request Snow tires on your rental car, at a premium, (cause those things are scarce in these parts.) Not naming names but we’ll 'Budget' accordingly for that minor oversight next time. So “mush” indeed, the lead dog takes to the trail and up the Red River we go!
Hey fellow Spirits, We're excited about the upcoming year and the adventures we'll be able to share. We'll keep you posted on the tours, tunes and stories. Gabriel and I set out Feb.1, for the mid-Canadian freeze your west coast asses off tour. Talk to you further down the road, keep it between the lines! J.
