Early Spirit — Jay Knutson (vocals and guitar), Gabriel Dubreuil (fiddle), Ben Kelly (percussion) and Aidan Goheen (bass) — deliver a whole host of new tunes to the world with The Hollow Tree. A totally collaborative effort, the album includes brilliant lyrics and vocals from Knutson, exciting arrangements and fiery fiddle parts from Dubreuil and engaging base lines and percussion. While remaining committed to the band’s folk and traditional roots this album explores new influences and includes exciting collaborations.
This twelve-track collection of songs and instrumentals features guest appearances by Andy Hillhouse (guitar), François Houle (clarinet), Geoffrey Kelly (whistle), Michelle Campagne (vocals) and William Chernoff (bass), giving an amazing vibe to the album. The Hollow Tree was produced and mixed by Tom Dobranzki (The Zolas) at Monarch Studios in Vancouver.
